HELIX features this month in the Science Selections section of the journal 'Environmental Health Perspectives'. The June edition of the journal includes the earlier online published 'design' paper, which explains the reasoning behind the project.
The article, "The HELIX Project: Tracking the Exposome in Real Time" provides a short introduction to the project. Paul Lioy (a professor of environmental and occupational medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School) comments that by publishing the complex study design of HELIX “other environmental health and exposure scientists may be inspired to develop parallel studies of smaller populations to validate other components of the exposome concept.”
The full scientific review is available for download from the EHP website.
